Come Volunteer!

The Self-Reliant House and Friends of the Environmental Center are always looking for
volunteers.  Opportunities include projects in Green Building, Energy Design, Gardening and
Landscape Design, Office Administration and more.  Do you have a talent you would like to
share?  Let us know, and we will be happy to chat about how to put it to good use.
 

Can I get college credit for volunteering?

Yes,  our variable unit ENVMT 50-Special Projects in Planning, Implimentation, and
Maintenance
class allows you to choose a project and recieve from 0.5 to 3 units of college
credit.
ENVMT 501-Sustainable Environmental Systems Projects class is a no cost, 0 unit
course which allows you to put your volunteer work on your college trnascript.
ENVMT 49
Independent Study
provides another opportunity to  use your skills for college credit.  

Do you have work days at the Self- Reliant House?

Yes!  We organize work days periodically when we have a large project, or many small projects
which require a group effort.  Check out the most current events and volunteer opportunities on
our
Facebook page.  If you have a project in mind and would like to organize a work day, or if
you have any questions regarding upcoming work days, please contact the center at (510)

What if there are no work days scheduled?

We would still love to have you!  Contact the Environmental Center at (510) 434-3840 to discuss
your interests, and to set up a time to come up to the center.
